Turkmenistan ready to buy more Belarusian machines
MINSK (BelTA) – Turkmenistan is ready to expand the list of Belarusian mechanical engineering products the country imports. Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made the statement at the extended participation meeting with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on 27 April, BelTA has learned.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed Turkmenistan is interested in buying quality Belarusian agricultural, road, construction, and municipal machines. He said: “We buy a lot of machines in Belarus. They have proved to be quality ones and therefore we will continue buying your products in the future”.
Besides, Turkmenistan buys Belarusian machine tools, equipment, construction materials, food, and medications.
In the last few days the President of Turkmenistan permitted the Public Utilities Ministry to sign contacts to buy 1,989 machines from OAO MAZ and 173 special vehicles from OAO Amkodor. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov remarked that the permission to buy the Belarusian products will allow the Q1 2012 trade turnover to exceed $320 million. He stressed that in Q1 2012 the trade turnover beat the record of the previous five years.
