EEC confident in Belarus’ prompt accession to WTO
MOSCOW, (BelTA) – The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) is confident in Belarus and Kazakhstan’s prompt accession to the World Trade Organization, Tatiana Valovaya, Minister for EEC Integration and Macroeconomy, told a press conference in Moscow on 18 June.
According to Tatiana Valovaya, the legal framework of the Customs Union of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan rests on the same criteria Russia uses to join the WTO.
“We are in favor of the accession of Belarus and Kazakhstan to the WTO,” Tatiana Valovaya said.
The process of Russia's accession to the WTO, which is due to end formally in early August, will not hamper of Eurasian integration, Tatiana Valovaya said. On the other hand, believes the minister, speedier integration with its partners facilitated Russia’s accession to the WTO.
