Novosibirsk Oblast Governor views cooperation with Belarus as strategic
MOSCOW, (BelTA) - Novosibirsk Oblast views cooperation with Belarus as strategic, Governor of the Russian region Vasily Yurchenko said as he met with a Belarusian delegation led by Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Anatoly Rusetsky in Novosibirsk on 28 June, BelTA has learnt.
The parties talked over a wide range of promising areas of cooperation including science and technology, agriculture, construction and industry. “We are forming a taskforce that will consider mutually beneficial projects. In particular, as for opening a joint production of agricultural equipment in our region, we already see the manufacturing model and are looking for an appropriate site. In a month we plan to consider the project at the investment council of the region and launch its implementation,” Vasily Yurchenko said.
The Governor also spoke in favor of tapping into the industrial and machine-building potential of Novosibirsk Oblast as well as cooperation in microelectronics.
Anatoly Rusetsky, for his part, noted that Belarus had already formed a taskforce for priority areas of bilateral cooperation. “We already know that apart from machine-building we will develop microelectronics. We suggest setting up a joint innovation center using the scientific basis of Belarus and Novosibirsk Oblast. As for joint production in your region, we are ready to produce the whole lineup of agricultural vehicles,” he said.
Besides, the Belarusian delegation made a point of prospects to develop cooperation in science and implement nanoelectronics projects at the Technopark of the Novosibirsk Science Campus. |
