Belarus to hold big fair in Tallinn in 2013
A major fair featuring Belarus-made goods will be held in the central square in Tallinn, Estonia, in 2013, BelTA learnt from the Economy Committee of the Minsk City Council.
The relevant agreement was reached following Belarusian trade fairs held in the Estonian cities of Tallinn and Maardu. Such events were organized in Estonia for the first time.
The event is organized by the Minskvneshtorginvest enterprise (subordinate to the Minsk City Council), the Embassy of Belarus in Estonia and Estonia’s BeLinOrTextile company (the distribution network of Orsha Linen Mill). The enterprises of Minsk Oblast successfully displayed their products.
“Following the fairs and meetings with the Tallinn and Maardu administration the parties reached the agreement on organizing the major fair featuring Belarusian goods in Tallinn’s central square in 2013,” the Economy Committee of the Minsk City Council said.
According to the specialists, the fairs in Maardu and Tallinn designed in the Belarusian style were popular with the residents and tourists.
The Belarusian delegation was represented by members of the Economy Committee of the Minsk City Council and the Frunzensky District administration. The latter has long-standing twinning relations with Maardu. The delegation conducted negotiations with the Tallinn City Centre administration, the Maardu City Council and the representatives of the Estonian companies. The presentations of trade and economic and investment opportunities of Minsk and Belarus were also made.
A positive image of the events held by Belarus has already attracted the attention of Estonia’s neighbors. Work is underway to study the possibility of holding fairs in other Baltic states, the Economy Committee of the Minsk City Council noted.
