New equipment at Grodno CHP plant No. 2 to be commissioned in December
New equipment at Grodno CHP plant No. 2 is to be commissioned in December this year, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Manoj Bharti told media on 14 August.
The diplomat reminded that an Indian company is now conducting an upgrade at Grodno CHP plant No. 2. “The work is nearing completion. At the end of December the entire equipment is to become operational,” he said.
A 121 MW gas turbine unit will be built at the CHP plant. This is envisaged by the 2011-2015 government innovative development program.
The project is implemented using credit resources of Export-Import Bank of India. The Indian company BHEL is the supply of the major equipment. The company specializes in the production of high-tech equipment for the energy industry, in particular, hydroelectric power plants, combined heat and power plants and nuclear power plants.
The diplomat noted that the electricity transit is among the most promising avenues of Belarus-India cooperation.
