Belarus selling state-owned stakes in four paper & timber companies
Belarus has announced plans to sell government-owned stakes in four enterprises controlled by state-owned paper and timber industries concern Bellesbumprom: OAO Molodechnoles (based in Vileika, Minsk Region), OAO Borisovles’ public food catering centre (Vugly Village, Minsk Region), OAO Olkhovka Cardboard Factory (Ostrovets District, Minsk Region), OAO Minskprojectmebel, a Bellesbumprom senior official told Prime-TASS.
The government plans to sell a 99.84% stake in Molodechnoles (28.245 million shares), a 85.14% stake in Borisovles’ public food catering centre (12,716 shares), a 76.81% stake in Olkhovka Cardboard Factory (120,893 shares), a 99.76% stake in Minskprojectmebel (32.777 million shares).
All companies, except for Minskprojectmebel, will be put up for auction without any supplementary requirements and conditions for investors. OAO Minskprojectmebel will be sold on competitive grounds, the official informed.
The government plans to sell the aforementioned companies for their market value, which will be estimated as soon as an investor shows up, the official said.
OAO Molodechnoles (established in 1993) specializes in timber procurement.
OAO Borisovles’ public food catering centre (established in 1997) specializes in retail trade.
OAO Olkhovka Cardboard Factory (established in 1936) specializes in paper recycling.
OAO Minskprojectmebel (established in the 1930s) specializes in furniture production.
