Bellegprom Concern taking part in economic forum in Lithuania
Over ten companies affiliated with Bellegprom Concern take part in the economic forum in the city of Birstonas, Lithuania, on 23-24 August, BelTA learnt from Spokesperson for Bellegprom Concern Tatiana Pyshkalo.
The economic forum “Cooperation between Lithuanian and Belarusian businessmen. Promotion of trade” is attended by a Bellegprom Concern delegation led by First Deputy Chairman Vladimir Astrovsky. Taking part in the forum are Orsha Linen Mill, Sukno, Gronitex, Polesie, Alesya, Bobruisktrikotazh, BelCredo, Eliz, Lyudmila, Veras and LeGrand.
The forum is held by Bellegprom Concern and the Apparel and Textile Industry Association of Lithuania every year. Belarus and Lithuania take turns in hosting the forum. The event was held in a format of a joint conference in Pinsk on 2-3 June 2011.
The program of the forum includes a business conference, presentation of Belarusian and Lithuanian companies, negotiations, and tours to Lithuanian light industry companies.
Vladimir Astrovsky is expected to meet with President of the Apparel and Textile Industry Association of Lithuania Linas Lasiauskas to discuss ways to boost cooperation and provide assistance in promoting light industry products on the markets of Belarus and Lithuania. A meeting is scheduled at the Belarusian embassy in Lithuania to discuss exports of Bellegprom Concern products to Lithuania.
At present 26 companies affiliated with Bellegprom Concern export to Lithuania. In 2011 the trade between Belarusian and Lithuanian companies amounted to $18.8 million, up by 8%. In H1 2012 the trade stood at $7 million, down by 26.3% compared to H1 2011. Belarus’ major light industry exports to Lithuania include flax fabric, garments, leather, footwear and other commodities. Belarusian products are sold in Lithuania via a commodity distribution network of Bellegprom Concern. The network is composed of five distribution facilities in Vilnius and Siauliai.
