In Q1 unemployment in Lithuania stood at 14.5%
Statistics Lithuania said that according to the Labour Force Survey data, the unemployment rate in the country in the first quarter of 2012 stood at 14.5%, which is by 0.6% more than in last quarter 2011.
In Q1 in Lithuania there were 230,900 unemployed persons in the country, which is by 8,800 or 4%more than in Q IV of 2011, Statistics Lithuania reports.
Long-term unemployment rate, which refers to persons unemployed for one year and above, moved up to 7.3% in the first quarter from 7.1% in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate among youth, aged between 15 and 24, dropped to 28.7%from 32%.

The number of jobless persons in the country advanced 4%from the previous quarter to around 230,900 during the three-month period. In Q1, the number of jobless totaled around 277,600, the agency said.
