Croatia's employment down in January
The number of employed fell in January by 0.9 per cent or 12,360 persons compared to December, the latest data from Central Bureau of Statistics shows.
Croatia had 1,123,768 employed and 337,378 unemployed last month, the daily Vjesnik writes.
The January salary data shows that net salaries also fell to 5,450 kunas (734 Euros), a drop of 2.4 per cent compared to December.
The drop was also registered on an annual basis, with the average gross salary in 2010 registered at 7,670 kunas (1,033 Euros), a drop of 1.5 per cent in real terms compared to 2009.
