Belarus cuts fermented beverage output 28.7% in Jan-Apr

MINSK, PRIME-TASS. Belarusian enterprises reduced the output of fermented beverages (fruit wines, ciders, honey beverages, mixed drinks with alcohol content) by 28.7% year-on-year in January-April 2012 to 4.627 million decaliters, Belarus’ National Statistics Committee said in a report.

The output of natural fruit wines with alcohol content ranging from 9% to 13% totalled 9,000 dal, up 80% on year.

The output of fortified fruit wines with alcohol content ranging from 13% to 20% reached 4.325 million, down 29.7% on year.

Sales of fermented beverages in Jan-Apr 2012 dwindled down 32.1% to 4.146 million dal, while sales of natural fruit wines shrank twofold to 10,000 dal.
 
Sales of fortified fruit wines totalled 4.146 million in January-April 2012, down 32.7% on year.

Inventories of fermented beverages stood at 712,000 dal as of May 1, 2012, up 41.6% since January 1, 2012; natural wines – 6,000 dal (down 14.3%), fortified fruit wines – 615,000 dal (up 40.7%).
