    19.01.2010 Sales of cattle and poultry in the Brest oblast, as of October 1, 2009
    According to Belstat, over January-September, 2009, 153,559.2 tones of cattle and poultry in live weight were sold in the Brest oblast, or 9.8% up on the similar period of 2008. The leader in selling poultry and cattle became the Baranovichi raion throughout the oblast in this period of time, and it made up 40,757.5 tones (11.7% more than in 2008). Brest and Kamenets raions showed big volumes of sales as well, with 19,307.8 tones (11% up on 2008) and 8,730.2 tones (4.4% up on 2008), respectively.

    Poultry farming is one of the most effective and profitable branches of agriculture. The basic manufacturers of production of poultry farming in the republic are the agricultural organisations which are a part of the republican association «Belptitseprom». These are 38 enterprises (including 10 poultry plants of meat direction).
