    The scope of works rendered in construction for the period of January-June 2010 amounted to nearly RUB 5097.4 million in terms of value or 100.8 percent as against January-June 2009, of them RUB 2144.8 million worth of works or 100.7% were done by large and medium-sized organisations.

    According to the data by Kurgan Oblast Local Agency of Federal State Statistics Service, residential buildings with a total area of 456.1 thousand square metres were put into use in 2009 (that exceeds the figure of 2006 by 39.6% and the figure of 2008 by 2%), including 107.5 thousand square metres built by the public at their own expense and through credit sources (that exceeds the figure of 2006 by 46.3% and is by 32.1% down compared to 2008).

    According to the data by Kurgan Oblast Local Agency of Federal State Statistics Service, in January-December of 2009 1,533 of new buildings were put into use in the oblast. The total area of buildings put into use exceeded the figure of 2008 by 48.7%.

    In H1 2009 233.9 thousand of flats with the total area of 21.6 mln sq.m. were brought into service having made up 99.7 per cent against the same period of 2008. In June 2009 the organizations of all forms of ownership constructed 55.9 thousand of new flats (Picture 1). In June 2009 the volume of works classified as Construction made up 348 bln rubles or 80.4 per cent against the same period of 2008, in H1 2009 – 1558.8 bln rubles or 80.7 per cent.

    In Kazakhstan in 2008 for the first 9 months the volume of construction work (services) has made approximately 10,4 billion $, that is on 3,1% more, than in the similar period of 2007. In the accounting period in the structure of the executed works prevailed erection of buildings and civil construction which share in the total amount of works has made 56,3% (in January-September, 2007 - 40,6%).

    According to Central Statistic Office of Latvia, in the 1 quarter of 2009 the volume of construction in the country was reduced on 29,8% in comparison with the similar period of 2008. Volume of construction of new objects of the real estate was reduced on 42,7%, construction and repair of office buildings - on 35,7%, streets and roads - on 47,2%, industrial and warehouse - on 59%, residential buildings - on 64,6%.

    According to the Department of Enterprise Bankruptcy Management of Lithuania, in January – August 2008 the number of insolvent construction companies grew by 70 per cent if compared with the same period of 2007.

    By experts’ estimates, an increase in world real estate reached 8.2% in the 4Q of 2007. In Estonia it was 14.5%. For comparison, indices of price dynamics for real estate in neighboring countries were as follows: Lithuania – 0.9%, Latvia – 7.1%, Ireland – 7.3%.

    According to the international consulting company «Optim Consult», the highest throughput among the general-purpose equipment has been observed in refrigerating equipment and air-conditioners (37.81%), loaders (35.86%), lifting equipment (24.55%), valves (23.11%) and internal combustion engines (21.17%). Fans production has seriously reduced (17.64%).
