In 2008 retail trade turnover increased up 31% (1269 billion RUB.) and made up 5 351.9 billion rubles in comparison with the previous year.
In 2008 private trade in the retail trade turnover occupied 78.5% (4 199.8 billion RUB.), of which consumer cooperatives was 585.4 billion RUB. State trade occupied 18.5% (990.6 billion RUB.) of the retail trade of Grodno region, foreign trade - 3% (161.1 billion RUB.).

In 2008 Grodno region export totaled 1564 mln US dollars having increased by 10.9 per cent if compared with the previous year (153.2 mln US dollars). Chemical products account for the major part of the region’s export, rubber resin – 30.8 per cent of the export or 482 mln US dollars. Foodstuffs and materials for food industry also account for quite a considerable share (22.4 per cent or 350.5 mln US dollars).

So, if in 2000 the volume of production made in FEZ's occupied 0,75% of total amount of production of the industry, in 2006 this figure made already 3,7 %.
