As of May 1, 2010 the Belarus banking sector comprised of 32 banks. 8 banks had a 10% share of foreign capital in their authorized fund, 14 banks had the foreign capital share exceeding 50%. Moreover, there are 8 representations of foreign banks such as Сommerzbank АG (Germany), АО SNORAS (Lithania), the International Bank, АО Rietumu Banka (Latvia), AО Trasta komercbanka (Latvia), ZAO UniCredit Bank, OAO Russian Agricultural Bank, ZAO Respublikanski Bank.

For the 1st of February 2009 the Belarusian bank sector included 31 bank with 322 branches. From them 25 banks are the banks with the participation of the foreign capital, including 8 banks with 100% foreign capital. In two other banks only one action belongs to the residents of the Republic of Belarus. In the territory of the Republic of Belarus there are 8 representations of foreign banks of Russia, the Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany and Interstate bank.
