Building sector of Kazakhstan, 2008

In Kazakhstan in 2008 for the first 9 months the volume of construction work (services) has made approximately 10,4 billion $, that is on 3,1% more, than in the similar period of 2007. In the accounting period in the structure of the executed works prevailed erection of buildings and civil construction which share in the total amount of works has made 56,3% (in January-September, 2007 - 40,6%).

The basic share in section of republican construction is occupied by works of: private organizations - 74,8%, foreign contractors - 24,5%, state organizations - 0,7% (Tab.1).

From the beginning of 2008 in the republic as a whole have been erected 22979 buildings, from them:
- Inhabited type - 20265;
- Uninhabited type - 2714.

Besides 1131 objects of trade infrastructure, 811 objects of transport and communications infrastructure, 76 objects of educational and public health services sphere  have been put into operation.

Growth of performance of amounts of works in this period has been noted in 9 regions of the republic, the greatest growth is noted in Atyrau and South-Kazakhstan regions. Meanwhile, in the aggregate more than 60% from all the volume of civil work occupy Astana, Almaty (Alma-Ata) and Atyrau  regions.

On housing construction in January-September, 2008 it has been directed nearby 2,9 billion $ of investments, that is almost on 7% less, than in the previous year for the similar period. In general, all organizations has put into operation 4487,3 thousand sq. meters of habitation. The greatest share of habitation put into operation was marked in East-Kazakhstan, North-Kazakhstan, Akmola and Almaty regions.

On the average, cost of construction of 1 sq. m of a general area of apartment houses in 2008 has made in the republic 470 $, including constructed by the population - 312 $ (in the similar period 321 and 215 $ accordingly).

In Kazakhstan in 2005-2007 within the limits of realization of a housing development program it has been constructed nearby 18 million sq. m of habitation, though originally  has been planned 12 million sq. m Now in the republic is realized a new state housing development program for 2008-2010. In this period they plan to put into operation 27 million sq. m of habitation.

Also in the country actively develops the construction of commercial elite habitation.
