Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya were established on August 30, 1996. November 1, 2000 saw the Belarus-Libyan Joint Commission for the Economic, Trade and Technical and Scientific Cooperation created. The contractual-legal base is supplemented with a protocol on cooperation between the Belarus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the General Union of Commercial-Industrial and Agricultural Chambers of Libya.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela were established on February 4, 1997. Venezuela is a strategic and economic partner of the Republic of Belarus. The contract-legal base numbers over 20 interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements.

As of May 1, 2010 the Belarus banking sector comprised of 32 banks. 8 banks had a 10% share of foreign capital in their authorized fund, 14 banks had the foreign capital share exceeding 50%. Moreover, there are 8 representations of foreign banks such as Сommerzbank АG (Germany), АО SNORAS (Lithania), the International Bank, АО Rietumu Banka (Latvia), AО Trasta komercbanka (Latvia), ZAO UniCredit Bank, OAO Russian Agricultural Bank, ZAO Respublikanski Bank.

The largest innovative active enterprise of Mogilev region is OAO (JSC) Mogilevhimvolokno. The enterprise produces dimethylterephthalate, polyethylene terephthalate, polyester fiber and tows, polyester filament, polyester composite materials, etc. The goods produced by the enterprise are marketable in Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Federal Republic of Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, China and other countries.

Currently, the structure of the oblast’ industrial complex numbers some 200 industrial enterprises, joint-stock companies and associations. The largest industrial centers are Mogilev, Bobruisk, Kritchev, Kostukovichi, Osipovichi. The key industrial sectors remain chemical and petrochemical industries.

In January-February, 2010 investments in fixed capital in Mogilev oblast totaled Br 384 billion, or 102.9% up on January-February 2009. As of the structure of investments in fixed capital, they are allocated as follows: 27.2% - machines, equipment, vehicles; 57.9% - building and assembly jobs; 14.9% - others works and expenses.

24.02.2010 Economic cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Islamic Republic of Iran
Diplomatic relations between Iran and Belarus were established in March 1993. For the purpose of trade and economic relations development between the countries the Belarus-Iran Commission was set up in 1995. As a result, there are 35 interagency and interstate agreements inclusive of economic agreements signed by Belarus and Iran.

In 2009 in the Republic of Belarus the total harvest of agricultural crops exceeded by 1486.3 thousand tons, or 5.93% the level of a similar period of 2008. Comparative analysis of cropping by quarters is presented in Fig. 1. So, in I quarter the increase was 675.7 thousand tons or 25.6%, in II quarter – 873.6 thousand tons, or 20.76% in the III quarter there was a smallest target exceeding in an amount of $ 502.1 thousand tons, or 3.77%, while in IV quarter there was a reduction in harvest in an amount of 565.1 thousand tons, or 11.57%.
